I was born in Schweinfurt, Germany in 1947 of Lithuanian parents who were escaping the Russians. I moved to Vermont at the age of 3, and then moved to Connecticut at the age of 5. I graduated from Paier School of Art with a professional degree in Interior Design. In 1969, I started as a Ski Patrol at Mt. Southington and became a Professional Patroller at Killington in 1970 for 2 years, where I discovered photography and became a Certified Ski Patroller.
In 1974, I joined the Sugarbush Resort Ski Patrol. In 1976, I started work with United Press International as a photographer 5 years. In 1987, I became a Staff Photographer at the Times Argus for 15 years, all the while continuing to be a Ski Patroller.
In 2006, I went back to work as a Professional Ski Patrol. It was then that Sugarbush Resort discovered I was a top photographer, and I have been there since taking marketing photos, on-hill portraiture, and legendary scenic and action photos.
